It will not, not through Ohio winters, and the cheapest moment to protect it is well before it has visibly failed. The mechanism is simple: water gets into a hairline crack, freezes overnight, expands, thaws, and pries the opening wider, over and over from November through March. We install and repair asphalt, but seal coating is the job we push hardest, because a proper coat locks moisture out before the freeze-thaw cycle gets started and costs a fraction of a repave.
